Love Thy Neighbor is a collective effort by faith communities and people of faith across Western North Carolina. Our diverse faiths call us to stand in solidarity with our immigrant neighbors and family and to work together towards a humane and just world for all God’s children, regardless of immigration status. The Love Thy Neighbor campaign joins together, people of faith and our wider community to speak out, and to put our faith in action in defense of immigrant rights.

Collective Statement by Faith Communities in Support of Immigrant Justice
“As faith-based organizations and institutions rooted in Western North Carolina and representing a diversity of religious traditions and beliefs, we are united in our commitment to working towards a humane and just world for all, regardless of immigration status. We believe that all people are Beloved Children of God, important and vital members of our community, and deserving of the full enjoyment of human rights and human dignity. We believe in loving one’s neighbor, welcoming the stranger, providing safe harbor for those fleeing oppression, caring for the vulnerable among us, and standing against injustice…” Read the full statement.
Use your voice
Speak up and Speak Out
We have a duty in this moment to not be silent, but instead to speak up and speak out. Even if that risks comfort and privilege. Now is the time to use your voice. You can do this many ways: through conversations with neighbors, at dinner parties, in church groups that explore the distance Christian nationalism is from the call of scripture and God’s hope for all people.
Interested in a visible witness of your support and an invitation to deeper conversation with your neighbors and community? These yard signs are designed for just this purpose. Consider buying 10 and sharing with your neighbors. Proceeds support the work of Compañeros Inmigrantes de las Montañas en Acción.
